Overview
Volvo had a dose-style high-segment hatchback range with the introduction of the C30 a few years ago. The four-seat C30 is based on the Volvo S40 sedan, which was abandoned - with the V50 family related - 2012. The C30 competes with other small luxury cars like the Volkswagen GTI and Mini Cooper S.
Exterior
C30 has received greater scale in 2011, similar to the Volvo XC60 crossover and gives a modern look. One of the design elements most interesting in the C30 is its two-door hatch glass. Volvo says it gives the impression of opening inwards, and the spectators can see the control center dash from behind. Exterior features include:

Interior
Volvo says that four adults can fit inside the compact C30. Rear bucket seats are placed slightly inward of the front seats, which allows for greater forward visibility. In front, the dashboard has a central panel ultra thin, which integrates audio and climate. Interior features include:

- Standard CD stereo with auxiliary socket

- Optional navigation system with traffic data in real time

Under the Hood
The preliminary DRIVe C30 is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline five-cylinder engine. Mechanical features include:
- 227 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque
- Six-speed manual as standard
- A five-speed automatic optional
